Eagles Bake Up Success: Learning Fractions One Recipe at a Time

Students in Mrs. Santos and Mrs. W’s 5th grade MTSS groups engaged in a hands-on math experience that brought fractions to life in a meaningful way. By following recipes and using real measuring tools such as cups, teaspoons, and tablespoons, students applied their understanding of fractions in a real-world context.

Through this interactive activity, students practiced adding and multiplying fractions while exploring equivalent fractions, all while making connections between math and everyday life.
