District Spelling Bee 2018

On Friday, January 19, 2018, District 89 held their annual spelling bee with 24 student contestants, 12 from Stevenson Middle School, and 12 from Irving Middle School. Malik S., 8th grade Irving placed 3rd, and Trisha T., 7th grade Stevenson placed 2nd. Champion Shantiah W., 7th grade Stevenson, won the District 89 Bee with the word ‘facetious’. She will represent District 89 at The 8th Annual West 40 ISC Scripps Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at McClure Jr. HS located at 4225 Wolf Road in Western Springs.
